I'm new to the forum and am thrilled to see all of the Marlin owners active here. I have 4 Marlins, all JM stamped, pre-crossbolt safety models, & am always interested in the right JM (I'm ok w/ crossbolt safeties, just don't have one). I have the following:

Golden 39M Mountie from 1975 (Christmas gift from my Dad)
1894 .357/38 from 1981
336RC from 1950, unmolested waffle top
444 from 1974

I'm researching all I can about reloading since I purchased the 444 last Sunday and plan to get started with that as soon as I'm comfortable with the information I've gathered.

Edit: thought I should add a pic or two of my waffle top

Thanks, it wasn't a beauty when I got it, but a little rust removal, steel wool & lemon oil really does wonders for these old guns.
Is that a williams fp tk peep sight you got on it?

Yes it is, I'll be taking it to the range tomorrow to sight it in.
Nice.
Hopefully the front sight height is gtg.

Yes, I'll find out. I really don't want to remove the original front sight. I'd like to keep the gun as original as possible.

Love the old Marlins , have a few myself. You may need a taller front sight , something around .410
