Are there other individuals or companies that are comparable to Turnbull with regard to lever action rifle work?

I guess it depends on exactly what you want done. Turnbull definitely is top notch, but I am pretty sure there are others out there that do good work. I will definitely follow this thread.

Think you'll find that Turnbull does custom restoration, engraving, stock and metal finishing work. And that they use a lot of parts from Wild West Guns. If on the other hand you want a custom built lever gun, might just as well go to Wild West Guns in the first place.

Mechanical, probably any good Smith. Restorations, he is at the top of his game.

Take a look at Snowy Mountain Blue - Gun Restorations. His color case is every bit as good as Turnbull’s at a fraction of the cost (he doesn’t have the overhead). I’ve used him to do all my color case work on the restorations I’ve completed over the last several years and have been well pleased.

Also check on Bobby Tyler. He does really good work as well. No doubt Turnbull is good, maybe the best, but you pay dearly for it. Probably the best. Bobby Tyler's no schlock either. Be worth a call. Depends on what kind of work you are looking at.
