I go with waterproof bags on the inside. The MR bags don't seem to absorb rain water like some I've had. Sometimes it feels like some bags double in weight when raining. In that case I like a pack cover.
Don

I thing Granite Gear makes a blue one that will fit.....or you can use a contractor bag. Unless you're going someplace really rainy like Alaska, I wouldn't worry too much.
I have a giant grey one I use over my Behemoth pack (like NICE 6500). Its huge and has room to spare. Its the largest one I believe Granite Gear makes.

This is what I'll be covering my MR 6500 with.

Barney's Sports out of Alaska has a great rainfly that covers the 6500 when fully packed. I prefer it to waterproof bags inside. I use it to sit on in th snow, cover myself when caught in weather up high and it saves carrying extra weight when your bag and everything in it is soaked from 10 days in the rain.
