I can't find any reviews on this pack. Anyone have any experience. I have a Blacks creek western that is a few years old and i love the build so this barbarian is enticing for a 4-5 day back country hunt.
Good luck on getting any info on the pack from the CS ! I email them at the beginning of the year...still waiting on a response. I was looking at the pack too, but with the lack of CS I think I will pass and look else where.
I know nothing about the pack, but I suppose this is a good price on it.

yeah that camofire price is what got me going on it. usually going for 250-299

I think it's probably a nice pack. However, it's 8.15 lbs for 3100cc. Awfully heavy for that size.
probably because it has 10 external pockets and the adjustable shoulder straps. The adjustable shoulder straps is a pretty important thing to me due to my vertical challenge. It's the reason i went with my western.

I think i'm gonna go for it pending an approval from my financial advisor. It's just has hard to talk the wife into new toys even while in afghanistan. lol
Sounds good. Let us know how it works out.

Crap. Upon further review, despite the good price. There are several other options out there that might fit my purpose(when i figure that out) better. I like the canadian more and the j107 has some unique options.
I have a Canadian in excellent shape I will sell.

what did you upgrade to?
Mystery Ranch Longbow.
I have used the Alaskan for the past several years and have been happy with it. I like the narrow profile and compession straps. It allows me to take camp in, and then use it as a daypack while bowhunting and not have any restriction while drawing the bow.
i would not get the 2.5. Very heavy, but comfortable. The Canadian is a good pack and i really like the new G11. The G11 is huge, comfortable and pretty lightweight.

There is also the G7, basically the same and the G11 but does not have the expandable meat compartment.

My favorite blacks creek pack is the canadian. i have used it on 4 days in the back country. I did just get the G11 this weekend and is still in the packaging but cant wait to try that one out. Could be my new favorite.

The featherlight is another option. ive used that on a 7 day sheep hunt. very light (obviously) but not ideal for packing meat IMO. Very comfortable pack too.

If you buy a new Blacks Creek pack, ill match anyones price and even throw in some extra.

Good luck, but i dont think you will be happy with the 2.5.
Thats cool orion.

The G11 is a nice looking pack. let us know how it turns out.
i will.

Ive gotten to play with it but have not used it. probably wont until my next scouting trip in a few weeks. the true test is with a lot of meat in it! hopefully i can do that soon too.
Elkhunter,
Let me know your thoughts on a price for Canadian. Also what kind of shape is it in? Lastly any major complaints with it? In looking at it on line fits my needs for long hauls or detach and use the day pack separately.
Thanks,
He sold it krueger. I think his was a model before it came with the detachable day pack.
The Canadian is sold pending funds.

It is in excellent shape.

Only complaint I had was that it wasnt quite big enough for what I wanted, the Longbow fits my hunting style better.

It does not have the detachable day pack, it was one of the first years models when I got it.
Thanks for the update. Do you know if on the newer version with the day pack, is it just a small back pack with shoulder straps? I looked at the site and it didn't show the pics...
Lastly does the hip belt and pads ride high or stay in place for the most part? I lied, one more for the straps in securing the bow, provide adequate protection of the bow in your opinion in dense bush as an example
Thanks
