Does anyone have feedback on this brand? I am looking at model 1017 Smilodon. I know it may not be the "Style" for some, but the features and their incentive pricing for military is intriguing.

I have the 1030 Sellas. They've been a great boot so far, I have no complaints with them. Are you a member of ExpertVoice? The boots you show are $240 on there.

Had a pair of Zamberlan boots - I can't remember the model. They were exceptionally comfortable and quite durable. Protected my feet & ankles well.

Wore 'em out eventually and have debated about getting another pair. I don't often go places where I need that much boot. But gosh, they were nice...

I have a pair of 960 Guide GTX RR's and like them - very comfortable. I have narrow feet and struggle with slipping heels and blisters in most boots. The heels are a little looser than ideal and do slip a little, but I've never gotten blisters in them. They're fine as long as I wear the right thickness of socks and keep them laced up snug, though I probably should try some heel inserts to snug them up a bit.

Yes, they are available on expertvoice.com. That is my reason for asking as they're the only higher end boot on there.

Thanks for the feed back, fellas!!

Wore a pair of GTX when they made them in wide. they don't anymore. Wore them for 10 years. fit like a sock from day 1 with suerfeet insoles. Wore them out.
bought a pair of Meindls. great boot, but teh zamberlans were much better IMO

I think Danner used to be on there, but you're right they're the only higher end boot on there and some pretty good deals. I'm thinking of another pair myself.

They're rated for -20°C, or -4°F, I wonder what the weight of insulation is in them (eg 400 gr thinsulate, etc)
Posted By: M1Garand Re: Zamberlan Boots - 06/22/19
Zamberlans are like that. Some say the equivalent of x-amount of thinsulate. I'm looking at an insulated pair of them or maybe a pair of Crispi's I like if I see them on sale.

I am just concerned that they may be too warm for earlier in the season. Though I can regulate a lot with socks, I suppose.

Yeah and if you're walking you really don't need much insulation. The ones I posted are uninsulated and I've walked around in November here with good socks and never had cold feet. If I was going to sit a few hours I'd need some insulated boots.
