Who makes good ones for fording streams?
I bought about the last pair of sourdough slippers that Barney's Chalet had, which is unfortunate as I really like them.

The Neo River Trekkers are not made anymore either....I don't think.

Those were the two best, IMO.

I don't have a good answer for you in something that is currently produced.

Don't know... have been using wading pants the last few years.

Wait, how about: These
Do they fit over your boots?

I edited my post to make it extra confusing. You're welcome.

I have used those, they work as well as any of the thin, overboot "waders". They will last a lot longer if you don't wear your boots in them, and instead use them like wading pants. If you fill them up with water, they really suck, and if using as mentioned, they will pop the crocs off your feet before you can say whatever choice word you were looking for.

The wading pants don't go over the boots, you have to pull boots, put on wet pants, then stuff feet into crocs. Its a production, but its a lot more protection too.
OK, thanks. This would be for just one stream crossing, so it looks like those Hodgmans would be quick and easy.

After reading the reviews, I'm not sure what to think about the Hodgman's overboots. One guy said they were the consistency of a coated outdoor tablecloth.

For $15 I would expect them to be pretty much worthless, but also for $15 it may be worth the chance to try them.

The ones I used were just as good as the sourdough slippers. Which isn't much of a compliment, they are not the most durable item. But they will keep you dry enough, and are light, and relatively durable for a creek crossing type use. Could always double up material on the sole at the expense of weight.
Thanks, I think I'll procure some. And if they don't work,I'll just fill up a Hills Bros. coffee can with worms, find ol' rawhide, and go fishin'.
sun don't bother her......
And, that ain't how she got the red-ass......
Yeah. She went fishing with 3 guys, and was the only one to bring home a red snapper.....

I haven't used these but I'm looking at trying these ones out.

I called wiggys. They won't ship inside CO because of sales tax.
Wouldn’t a simple trash bag or painters tarp work for a single stream crossing?
Probably. But I hope to be crossing this one back and forth several times. Once or twice on the way in unloaded, and three times on the way out with a heavy pack grin

The "lightest" way is just to duct tape your rain pants to your boots really tight, and maybe throw a strap at the ankle and wade on through. Actually, I guess the lightest is to strip to skivvies and wade it. But that gets really old when water temps are in the 30s, and especially if you are crossign the stream multiple times. I'd be hesitant to try a garbage bag based on the one experience of taking water over the top of the sourdough slippers.

There's a place in town "Wiggys Alaska", by Marc Taylor. Should I swing by and see if I can grab a pair of waders? It'll be a week or 2.
I have been using the Wiggy's waders for several years and they work well. Lathrop and Son's used to carry them, if that would help the shipping situation.
Chet, thanks for the tip, I'll check with Lathrop & Sons.

Chris: If I strike out with Lathrop, I might take you up on that, thanks.
