Hey Guys

Here is what is new this year and in the last few months

Changes:

1.4-Way forward pull hipbelt closure - This closure uses a single 1" center buckle with four 1" ladderlocks anchored on the belt. It makes closure and tightening easier, and maintains the ability to adjust tension on the top and bottom of the belt independently. It's good, most consider it an improvement.
2.YKK Aquaguard Zippers - We've resisted using water resistant / waterproof zippers in the past due to durability concerns. We're comfortable with these. They are very nice and will upgrade the water resistance of our packs and pockets. We're using #8's in accessories and #10's for most of the pack bodies.
3.Hipbelt height adjustment - We added a third grommet position so guys can run the frame higher.

New Products:
1. Short-Tail - this is a dayhunting pack that functions as a Talon. (It's similar in function to the original Peregrine 2400 if anyone remembers that- but with major improvements). It's a top zip with an integrated lid pocket and two big side pockets intended for spotter and tripod. Main uses we foresee are western dayhunting, or add a dry bag as a camp bag and use it for a longer backpack hunt, it will also do well as an eastern hunting pack including treestand use (all the pockets open upward to prevent losing gear from a tree). It's a small lightweight pack with good organization that can carry a full quarter. Short-Tailhttps://seekoutside.com/short-tail/

2. Flight Pack Line -
Load rating 30-50 lbs, targeted to lightweight backpacking but many will find these useful as a dayhunting pack that will get a first load of meat out.
These will fit women and kids better that our big packs often do.
Well built, light, water resistant...they tick a lot of boxes.

3. SpectraGridHT Fabric: very cool stuff, I'm a big fan. We've rolled this out in the Custom Pack Builders already and may do more depending on demand.
This is a 100 denier high tenacity nylon substrate with a tight X-grid of 200 denier Spectra fibers woven through it. So it's a strong but lightweight fabric, and the oversized spectra fibers create "hills and valleys" in the profile of the fabric, with the spectra hilltops taking the brunt of abrasion and protecting the nylon substrate.
Compared to 500 denier cordura - SpectraGridHT is several ounces lighter, but performs similar in abrasion, and is MUCH more water resistant. 1500 mm hydrostatic head rating is technically waterproof per military standards. It gets this via a quality PU coating.
Comared to X-Pac - lighter than X42, similar to X21 in weight, beats both in abrasion. Not nearly as waterproof, but will be fine for most rainstorms. Quite a bit quieter than X-Pac, it has a soft hand.
It looks really slick. You can see the grid pattern up close, but it blends to a silvery medium gray at a short distance. It's a really blendy color that is kind of trippy because of the pattern. A++ on looks.

Other Recent Product Releases:
UTurn Stoves: These save weight and pack size UTurn Stoves

Zipperless Tents : Silex and Eolus are trekking pole supported tents that use our patent pending zipperless closure.
Some cool stuff Kevin.
Kevin,

Do you have any pictures of the 4-way forward pull buckle setup? I grabbed a Fortress from you a couple of months ago and replaced the double hip belt buckles with a single 2" buckle, and used some 1" gatekeepers on the rear of the belt to get the forward pull on the straps. Curious to see how you've set it up.

Photos should be on the belt section of our packs or on the flight packs (same closure).

Kevin
Always good to see new products from innovation. Good work!
Kevin could you steer me towards the small accessory pocket you show in the Short-Tail video? don't see them on your site

Thanks

You are correct. We provide the product with Lids also. Let me see if we can get it listed as a separate product.

That would be great, have the perfect spot to hang it in my Divide smile
Kevin just wanted to say thank you to you and the folks that were at the Hunters Expo in SLC. I was able to get two hip pouches and a lid for my Uniweep. They also answered all my questions about how I was wearing my pack and small issues I was having. Somehow I missed the new forward hip belt closure. I will be looking that up. Love the pack and all your products.

Thanks again.
Mtwaeden I’m not Kevin but can find the hip belt pouch by clicking on lightweight backpacks and the selecting all back back accessories. That’s where I found them.

I’m good on hip belt pouches smile. I’m talking about the hanging pouch/organizer that is shown in the first video.

My Divide has two loops to hang something, the pouch in the video would be perfect.
Sorry. I misunderstood...

You are correct. Send us an email to [email protected] and request the little pocket included with the lid. We should be able to hook you up in the interim before we get it on the site.
Thanks
Kevin

Warden not sure how I missed that. Now I want one. Thanks a lot...
Kevin,
will the 4-way be adaptable to older packs? Maybe a retrofit kit?

Yes, email us if you already have our pack and there is a 30 percent discount for previous customers. If not, you can make it forward pull by using G-hooks or 1 inch gated buckles and adding them to the pals and then routing a 1 inch center buckle. You can get the one in gated with the marsupial gear buckle delete kit

Is it possible to attach the Short Tail bag lower so it doesn’t project up over the shoulders?

yes, but it does make zipper access harder if it goes too low since it is a wrap around zipper

Anybody know why Kevin isn't on here anymore?
Just curious.
