The 365XL and the Holosun 507K is a great combination. Mine has the 2 MOA dot with the 32 MOA circle. Needed minimal adjustment to zero in and the learning curve to pickup the reticle was short

All in all I really like this combo

I've got the same setup. Zero complaints.

I went the low budget route and got a 407K for $153. Been awhile since I've had a RDS on a pistol, so I'm still getting used to it. Also put a 407C on an M&P. And a FF3 on a 22LR.

So I have a 6 MOA dot, 3.25 MOA dot, and 2 MOA dot on those pistols. At this point I don't really prefer one over the other. I think I'm a bit faster with iron sights still, for the first shot, but during slow fire I think I get better groups with the RDS. I need to work on acquiring the dot faster.

Serious question - do you have to turn on the sight every time you grab the pistol and then leave it on all day while it's in the holster? I know these things have hell-a battery life so it seems that is the right answer, but I don't know. I'm thinking about trying one on my G48.

The 507K automatically goes to sleep after 10 minutes. It wakes up when you move the gun. I've fiddled with mine a bit to see if I could gingerly pick my gun up without activating the sight, but I can't--which is a good thing. The sight comes on every time.

Not sure how you are faster with iron sights, if you are able to aquire the iron sights quickly then you should see the dot

Because with irons you can get a varying degree of sight alignment, from perfect to very rough. The very rough sight picture may be enough for hits in aggressive shooting, but when you replicate that rough presentation with an MRDS it’s not clean enough to see the dot.

And because when a lot of people say “with irons” they don’t mean “when I use my iron sights”, they mean “when I generally pointed my gun in that direction while iron sights where on it”.

I think it's because I have a pretty clear view of the rear sight, along with the front sight, as I point the pistol towards the target. I wouldn't call it instinctive, but its natural to me. It should carryover to the RDS, but it doesn't. That seems to tell me that I need to work on it, regardless if I use irons or RDS, as I'm obviously correcting during the motion.

And it's irons-only, vs. RDS, where I think that I am faster with irons. Not irons-with-RDS-off vs. RDS-powered-on. Trying to use irons with the RDS powered off still screws me up.

I don't think it's a reason to dismiss the RDS. Just need more practice. I put an RDS on my compact 9mm, fullsize 9mm, and 22LR to work through it.

I think Bluedreaux has a good theory on why it seems that I can shoot faster with irons vs RDS. Easy to get the irons in the rough ballpark for hits. I just need more practice with the RDS.
