Hello everyone,

some time ago I posted about looking for a Dan Wesson Razorback 10mm and it's finally time. Earlier today I placed the order for one.
Now to my question: When the gun comes into the country, it'll have to be engraved with import markings akin to those on the revolver below, although the caliber might also need to be added.
Do you know any place on a 1911 frame where it's easy to put these markings and where they aren't visible from the outside with the gun fully assembled? I was thinking maybe below the grips.
Thank you.

Import markings can be put on the barrel of a complete gun. Back when I worked for an importer we put all import stamps on barrels, never on receivers...but that was a long time ago...don't know if anything has changed.

However...I bought a "pre-B" CZ 75 a few years back, and they very lightly laser etched the import marks on the barrel. That was easily taken off with a few swipes of 600gr sand paper. So it seems that rule was still in effect as of 2017.
