Anyone have one? How do you like it? Any reviews on it? Thanks

My brother has one and I shot it as good as anything I have ever shot. I bought one and mine was a turd. I carried it back and traded it in on something else.
Don't know what the difference was but mine was all over the place. My brothers is sweet.
I have thought about getting another one and trying again, but have not done it

I was hot for one till one showed up at a local gun store. I checked it out. I went to drop the magazine, and discovered that, since it's designed to be truly ambidextrous, when you push on it, the other side (its mirror image) is pushing against your hand, which makes it difficult to depress all the way. Granted, that could be thought of as a mere training issue, but who needs something else to think about when operating one's defensive handgun?

PS When I mentioned this to the sales clerk, he said he had the same reaction when he first dropped the magazine.

I bought one on impulse recently and I like it. It looked well made and well finished and I felt the urge to join the modern world and get a striker fired pistol. (I'm really a 1911 guy). With the flat back strap installed it feels like most of my 1911s in my hand. Trigger, while not as good as a 1911, it isn't bad. Accuracy is good, reset is good and it's ready for an MRD with the co-witness sights and included mounting hardware. Function has been flawless so far.

TRH's comment on the release is true. I've found that slightly raising my middle finger when dropping the mag alleviates the problem. True, it is something else to hopefully remember under stress, but it will be a stay at home defensive gun and since my wife is a southpaw it will be beneficial to her. Plus, there will always be a 1911 near by. smile

If you have the opportunity to get one or try one I encourage you to do so.

I have one that takes a suppressor. Runs like a champ with and without a can.

I think it is a modern design that is probably an improvement on the Glock. Seems to be a super reliable and accurate pistol.

I saw a 509 in FDE a couple of months ago and it was gone when i went back the next day. should have bought it that day
I'm sure they're fine guns, but I bet you cannot detail strip them as easy as a Glock 19.
I hear the 509 comes with a spare 24 round mag, which is pretty cool.
