I ran up on a Ruger 357 flat top that at some point lost its grips....I need some factory grips.
Did they come with wood or black plastic grips....or both ways ?
Depends on when made if you want it as it came from the factory
Serial numbers 1962...there seems to be a lot of wood grips for sale I'm just not sure which will fit it.
You'll likely need XR-3. Early BH's shipped with the Black hard rubber with other materials available as options. There were wood as well to fit the XR3.
The current standard BH grip frame is XR-3RED.
Late 1962 saw a change in the XR3 grip frame to the later XR3RED. You'll need to identify your frame first, it's marked. Either for that year will have a painted black bird on the medallion.
I have a Hard Rubber set for the XR3 & a few sets of wood for OM XR3RED available if you're interested.
How do I identify the frame ?
Under the grips on the GF. The letters & numbers XR3 or VR3RED is cast into the side of the grip frame.
If you're not set on factory grips, there is a vendor on ebay, under the name Arizona Custom Grips, that sells pretty decent grips in a variety of natural and synthetic materials for all Ruger grip frames.
