Revolver has "CONDITION CORRECTED" heavily (and professionally) engraved on the sideplate.
Would anyone here have information on this?

Some defect was corrected at the S&W factory. Maybe a design defect.

PS Researching it in the Standard Catalog, but found nothing to help you.

On the inside of the sideplate, or the outside of the sideplate? Either way, it's pretty damn weird.
