Local shop puts some of their nicer stuff on Facebook occasionally. Saw this one this morning and didn't have anything else to do so I went to look at it. 686 no dash 4". Unfortunately no box and grips obviously aren't original but a nice piece. Locks up tight and a great trigger like most Smith and Wessons of that era.

Nice, I’ll bet it shoots pretty well too.

Troutnut: Great find and great looking condition on that 686!
Good for you.
I have a similar revolver that I bought a short time back - it is also a 686 no dash but with a 6" barrel.
It came to me in excellent plus condition but with the ugliest set of factory green camouflage Pachmyer grips on it.
I have been trying to find an excellent plus set of "K" frame grips to get my rig back to factory original - I don't plan on shooting this minty 686 I just want to restore its full value while its in my collection.
Great picture by the way also.
Hold into the wind

I have one, too. Great gun.

The 686 is a great revolver. I was issued one and carried it for a couple years before the department switched to Glock .40 caliber G22 pistols. I have a new 686 Pro Series and really enjoy it.
