Well I think I blew it, saw a s&w older MD 19 looked to be satin nickle finish 21/2 barrel for 600 bucks last Friday! Never got to look at it as I was looking at the glock 43x. Sales guy pizzed me off, and I left got half way home and rembered the m19. I won't be able to get back there till Wednesday, I'm. Sure it will be long gone by than. One Smith that I never owned, and may never!

2 1/2" nickel model 19 was a pretty good deal at $600. You may be suprised, some places revolvers stay on the shelf longer. I've only got one model 19 it's a 19-3 6" it's a pleasure to shoot but I run mostly mid range 357s in it.

Boomers will be all over that one. The only thing they prefer more is 3" barrel. Unless they can put it on hold for you it will not be there Wednesday.

I've got all standard barrel lengths of the Model 19, all blued. One of the great offerings of S&W.

Here's my six inch dash 3 from 1975. Mint.

I have an equally mint four inch, but its early post-81, and I have another dash 3 in a snubby/round butt, that's also mint.

The short barrels with round butt grip frames are the cat's meow. One with a nickel shine's like walking by a steakhouse when you're hungry :-)

19's are great pieces, get back to that shop post haste and snatch it up before someone else does.

Nice pair, Eric. Looks like good, honest wear on the 4". Love it.

Revolver sales are strange here. Between local auctions, pawn shops and regular gun shops I've picked up 8 Smiths in the last 15 months or so. All pre lock 15-2 , two 17s , 19-3 , a 586 no dash , 686 no dash 629-1 3" with box and factory combats and a 625 . Only one I have over 6 bills in is the 629 and it wasn't much more. It sat In a pawnshop from October until late January

Sounds like a very good price. It won’t last long at that price, better go get it. My M19-3 is 54 years old. Recoil is not fun with magnum loads. I load mid range loads for it and it is much more manageable.

Yeah, typically cops carried these loaded with +P .38 Special, but the option was there to switch out to Magnums if one needed to penetrate cover such as an automobile door or windshield.

PS That's a nice example.

Hope to get back there on Wednesday, I'd guess it will be gone. But never know now days funds are hard to come by. Some nice looking 19s guys!

Oops, I should point out that nickel finish scratches easily and for some reason powder stains are difficult to remove. The finish is fine if you just buying the gun to stare at and parade pictures on the net. They look great with pearl grips. I used "duty version" (fixed rear sight) of what you seen.

I picked up worn nickel 4in about 10 years ago, pro-shot makes a lead clean cloth and metal care cloth that can make them look like new with some elbow grease.

Sound like the MD 19 sold right after I left . Easy come, easy go!

You seem to be in the breadbasket of S&W revolvers.
