A couple of weeks ago I made a post asking for info for a hunting handgun. Yesterday I made a great deal on a used, mint condition Ruger Super Blackhawk Hunter in stainless w/7 1/2' barrel and rings. No scope. Dealer threw in a box of ammo. Real nice gun! Going back to get a shoulder rig for it and order a Weaver 2X handgun scope. Thanks for all the advice. Now to save for reloading equipment so i can take up that hobby again. Can't wait for weather to improve a little so I can make some noise!

You've got that right. I've got one that's been on several different guns, included a Ruger SRH .454. It's always given perfect service and now has pretty much found a permanent home on a 10'' .22 Contender barrel.

Qtip- Looks like we both have the same outfit- Ruger SBH with Weaver 2X28 Scope. Just got my new holster from www.quiethide.com. If, you like Dave Jansen's holsters he should be able to send a picture of the one he just made for me. I've got new springs from Wolff Spring to lighten the hammer and trigger. Also, trying to get a Bisley hammer, but may just go ahead and forget about it if Ruger takes to long on the hammer. I had a SB with a 4 5/8" barrel and the hunter with the 7 1/2" barrel really shoots a lot better for me.

That handgun is as fine as they come. Good luek with it

I pick up the scope and get it mounted on Friday along with scoped handgun shoulder holster. When the weather gets better it' time to try it out.
