looking for links for a good holster for the Ruger Alaskan 454 (2.5" barrel). I have looked at the leather options and may go that route. just wondering if anyone has found a kydex or nylon holster of good quality. Thanks

I can't help you with nylon or Kydex, but I have a leather chest holster for my 460 S&W that is top quality, made by a guy who lives in Alaska. If you Google "Guide's Choice Holster" you should be able to find the site - sorry I can't get the link for you now. (slow internet in afsandystan.)

He makes quite a few different types of holsters, and since your Ruger is a popular gun in AK, he's already got some options that fit it.
