Love my CZ75BD but find the trigger to have a lot of creep. Anyone know any DIY remedies to improve it? I don't want to send it off to one of the CZ gurus for a trigger job and spend $$$.

Trigger creep is from the mating surfaces between the hammer and sear, and that's a job for a gunsmith.

I sent my gun to matt mink, angus hobdell also does it. depending on the hammer spring I can get my pull down to less than 3#. its not perfect but its way better than it was. I heard if you get rid of the firing pin block, it makes CZ triggers way better. It may also help to make the gun SAO. If you change out your hammer spring you should be able to lighten up the trigger quite a bit. the creep will still be there.

Swapping out springs, what can be accomplished for improvement of the SA trigger pull?

I am no expert but you have the two features that make CZ triggers bad, a hammer block and a decocker. Look on youtube for help but without one of those CZ trigger masters you may have to get used to it.

Shame there isn't a way to fix it without dropping $250-300 on a trigger job. Anyone make a full size, all steel, high cap 9mm with a 1911 quality trigger?

IMHO all the Beretta 92's I've shot have had good too excellent single action trigger pulls. But is DA/SA and has an alloy frame.

How about a 9mm 1911?

CZ does.

I have a CZ-85 Combat 9mm:
Some of it's better features are the lack of some additional features.

Fully adjustable micro-metric rear sight
Over travel adjustment of trigger
No magazine release safety - (magazine drops free)
No firing pin block safety - (some advantage in trigger pull)

Your CZ-85 Combat sounds VERY nice, P_Weed!

If comparing against the CZ75 understand that neither of them have a magazine disconnect, and both of them have a firing pin block. See schematic of your CZ85, part number 58.

Thank you. I bought it years ago because I wanted a CZ 75 pistol and there were not any around our area. Looking at a CZ catalog I chose and ordered the CZ 85 'Combat' model, because it's features and lack of some made it closer to the 'original' CZ 75. (Except for the '85' model designating ambi-controls) which was a plus for left hander's. I also ordered one in a glossy-blue finish that was then available - instead of black poly-coat.

Gun Geek -
The CZ85 is not the same model as the CZ85 Combat. - - This, from CZ-USA:

"The CZ 85 Combat adds a fully adjustable rear sight, extended magazine release, drop-free magazine, and over-travel adjustment on the trigger. The 'Combat' designation comes from the lack of a firing pin block safety, allowing the replacement of the firing pin without tools.

Ambidextrous features include safety levers (Manual Safety - No Decocker), slide stop levers, and a reversible magazine release. The lack of a firing pin safety gives the 85 Combat a slight advantage in the trigger pull department, making it a long-time favorite among competition shooters."

(Also, I have noticed some shooters who want a CZ-75, seem to overlook the CZ 85 Combat
for its shooter-friendly features that they are not aware of.)
