I have a Sig trailside (blue lam wood handle model) that i really enjoy. I've got a S&W model 41 also, and honestly I'm not sure if I prefer one over the other.

I never read much about the trailside. Anyone else shoot one?

Love my trailside! One of the most accurate 22 pistols I own. Only downsides are the plastic mag and that I only have one mag.

Been a safe queen for years - esp. since 22LR hard to find. She looks great in the safe!

The Trailside was a great gun. I believe that it was actually made by Hammerli. SIG should have kept it and shiitcanned the Mosquito.

The trailside got discontinued cause it shot as good as the $1200 Hammerli.

5 shots in an inch @ 25m or it didn't leave the factory.

Mags are pricy, for plastic.

This mod improves performance:

I want to put up a word of warning about the early magazines. This Trailside is an early one. The face of the barrel is flat and at least one of the early magazines would occasionally allow the round being chambered to stop on the face of the barrel below the chamber opening.
The slide would fire the unsupported cartridge and open the case throwing bits of case all over.
WE called SIG - this was the first outing with the handgun and told them about the problem. Sig said it was our problem. This was early digital camera days - none of us had a cell phone at the time. Using dal up we sent SIG these pictures and a picture of the magazine.
Sig sent us a magazine. We still have both. The pistol is accurate but we have had a few safety problems with it.
Check a used Trailside for function before you buy it.
