Both examples are stupid....the gamer who pre-planned the stage and the OFWG who also pre-planned it, but pretended that he didn't.
I especially like the notion that LV would "slowly and tactically" pie around every corner to chase down bad guys who are quietly waiting on him AFTER he's already started shooting up their buddies.

Seems to me that the slow speed was exaggerated to show "technique"
Vickers knows more tactically and has sacrificed more for this country than many of us combined...some people should learn a little more about a man before they spout off against him

As the 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta’s primary firearms instructor, Larry Vickers worked in a place that put more than a million rounds a year through 1911s. He’s a founding member of the International Defensive Pistol Association and is a member of the American Pistolsmiths Guild. When he says he’s seen everything that can go wrong with a 1911, I believe him.
everyone gets old and some get fat and old, but this doesn't mean he hasn't earn the right to be where he is today. People who know tactics can't always teach them , but he is trying and making a good living off his past experiences in the Military. He has my salute for his service.
Is it true, when clearing a house, the bad guys never move or change position?
Or shoot at you?
you are right if you shoot him first
I suppose that if we can assume that the bad guy in the house is always going to be less skilled - or lucky - than the guy clearing the house, these videos can be really useful.
I'd let the bad guy come to me. It doesn't matter how good your gun skills are if you don't have a ballistic vest (I don't) and the bad guy gets lucky (or is good). I'm staying behind the bed with the G19 and Benelli M2 with the 500 lumen Surefire forearm.

But what if your long arm is on the other side of a warehouse and you have to "fight your way to a real weapon?"

This has as little relevance to the 500 round a year casual shooter, as dragonflies do to Migs.
Who the hell is Larry Vickers? He's FOS. I shoot 500rd through my Kimber 1911 every New Year's eve. Everybody knows thats how you get really good with a pistol. The Kimber never fails. 1911's RULE! Only a idiot would trust a plastic pistol.

That crotch strap looks a little too snug to take a knee comfortably.

I like this guy. He builds pistols on the same basic pattern I've been setting my own up for decades. I also like the way he views his work:

My philosophy on reliability and aesthetics is really pretty simple: You won’t get it if I wouldn’t carry it. If a pistolsmith doesn’t ache just a little when a gun is delivered to a customer, he probably didn’t pour enough of himself into it. Bob Rodgers, pistolsmith
You've probably never heard of Rob Leatham either.
Never heard of him.
Not sure if that's TAK or a guy by the name of Dana Reed who posted under 308rules at FAL Files (and elsewhere) and has been banned everywhere he's gone for being a scam artist, among other things.
Exactly why I mentioned that. TAK has never posted any pics, ever, and the halfling in the posted pics doesn't fit the "uber fit, SF-certified (but never deployed) National Guard" TAK persona.

So, this "TAK" guy claimed to be SF? There are no midgets in SF, they're all over six feet. He's obviously a fat slob as well. Poser, if that's him. I guess we'll never know.

The fixation on "fat" and everyone else's body is rather TAK-like, though.

Yeah, all of them except for the one Army SF WO who I saw in a documentary who was 5'4".

Impossible, you made that up. ALL of them are six foot plus. No frickin' way a little guy could carry all that weight on those rucksack marches. You DO KNOW that ALL of them carry the same weight?
