LOVE the guns but their standard serrated ramp front sight blade gray out on me...replaced the one on the 654/.41 Magnum with a long range blade made by David Clements. It has gold hold over bars.

The others I have ended up with the FA brass bead or fiber optic...neither of which are great for long range shooting. Was over on the Greybeard Forums in the Freedom Arms section and noticed a blade made by one of the posters. Ended up ordering one of each height.

The blade is a slightly undercut Patridge with a serrated lower section. The undercut portion gives a nice black front sight. The serrated lower portion a gray and then the base which is 90* again black. Looks like it may work well...

Won't get to try them till next week...

Bob

ps..makers name is Kevin O'Neil and they were $26.00 each. Come in .330 and .380 but don't see why other heights could not be made.
Those are clean looking sights!

I just asked him if he can do the S&W PC sight blades...will let you know what he says...they would go great on your 5".

Bob, your collection of fine heaters never ceases to amaze me.

...sometimes when I open the gun chest it amazes me too.

I look at almost all of it as investments. Very few of the guns I have are currently made. One of my best friends lived across the street. He bought many of my "castoffs". He died in March and a couple of months ago I helped the widow sell off most of the collection.

There were ten guns....he broke even on one of them. The other nine made between 10 and 400% on his investment... The best was a Marlin .357 Carbine..the stainless 16.5" LTD. Marlin made 251 of them. He paid $650.00...it sold for $3075.

Better than money in the bank as it makes more and you can enjoy it...

Those are great looking sights; do you holster the guns? Does the undercut portion catch at all when drawing?

Good question...so I went and pulled out what I had that fits...

Freedom Arms Thumb-break...no

Simply Rugged Sourdough Pancake...slight fuzz

Safariland SightTrac...a little

But no drag with any of them.

This was my issue when I tried one some years ago on a custom so I went to these.

The long range sight that Clements made for me is the same profile as yours...

I will be asking Mr. O'Neil if he does other profiles...
