I am getting Dave Clements to mill a a groove and pin a new front sight blade on my single action. I have a white plastic insert sight on there now and hate it. It is sloped too much and that ugly white plastic insert washes out visually. Does anybody have a favorite front sight? Thinking of something with less slope for starters. Rear sight is a squared off U notch white outline.

Something like this Bowen style or Texas Longhorn Arms??

I like the blade that David makes and have many. Much steeper so a great sight picture but still pulls from a holster well. I get them .10" wide, a bit thinner than factory to allow a bit more light on either side of the blade.

I use the same basic blade on some of my Smith's too.

Same sight but with long range hold over bars....

I have a couple with bars for nostalgia's sake as I never have had a real use for them. That porting will keep the blade black. grin

what is the cost to mill and replace the front sight blade on a Ruger Black Hawk?
Here is a list of services that he does, but I really advise folks to speak with him. He is a great guy to deal with and does not mind discussing work (and stuff in general). I have used him before and was pleased, but I think he is now more in demand than ever. After browsing his web page I realized his wait times have gotten quite long. Maybe since I used him before and had a nice conversation with him he readily took my work. He is also giving the gun a good once over. I would give him a call and explain your needs.
