Can anyone recommend a good leather belt holster. I’m having trouble finding anything That isn’t Cordura or a shoulder holster for a 6” 44 mag.
Dosent freedom arms sell some holsters? You could also try diamond d customs.
I have two...one that fits 97s and one that fits 83s...both are from Simply Rugged.

Besides being very comfortable on the belt, one can get the Chesty Puller strap system to convert either to a chest holster

I assume the gun is a model 97. I've got a Freedom Arms Holster for a model 83. Freedom Arms did sell holsters for their guns, not sure if they still do. You might contact them. It's an open holster like a Bianchi or El Paso Saddlery. I like the trigger guard covered, and that's why I have so many Simply Rugged.
I too have a Freedom Arms holster in a cross draw. Marked 83 6 x. Like Cariboujack says, they do not cover the trigger guard, if that concerns you. Lots of other mfg's out there though that I am sure would be happy to help you out.
A Barranti cross draw & I also use one of his shoulder rigs although you mentioned you don't want a shoulder holster. Simply Rugged also makes a great holster.

Tucker is world class. I've carried my 1911 in one of their HF-1 rigs every day for 13 years, and they're built to last. They make several styles. I highly recommend their double thickness belt, it provides superb support.

I have 2 FA's, but I'm carrying the scoped 7 1/2" in an Uncle Mike's bandoleer across my chest when hunting with it. Works good or me.
Thanks guys! I should have specified 83 no scope and triggerguard covered. I’ll give Simply Rugged a look and go from there.

Von Ringler makes great leather.

+1 on Von Ringler. He made a rig for my scoped FA .454 Casull, that can be worn as a belt holster, or chest carry. Very high quality work.
I believe he once did, maybe still does, make holsters for FA.

+1

Have several. Some were bought from Bullets.com when Flave posted a link to their big sale on EPS leather a few years back.

Couldn't be happier.

agree. tom threepersons from el paso is my favorite holster made for a SA
I have used Simply Rugged's Sourdough for many Rugers and they work well. https://www.simplyrugged.com/

ElPaso Saddlery's Tom Three Persons is also a great holster

The Sourdough really protects the gun
I’ve got several El Paso Saddlery Tom Three Person’s holsters in different sizes for all of my single action revolvers. Hard to beat for the money, IMHO.

They are.
ive had a simply rugged pancake too. top notch service and very functional design. ive just never been able to warm up to pancackes like i can to a threepersons. a threepersons in basketweave looks pretty good on a 50s, 60s, or 70s era smith DA, too.

for factory offerings, i havent seen anything touch a galco SAO. bianchi makes a good one, but the galco is REALLY good.
