About to order parts to convert my SBH Hunter to bisley. Anyone done this? Ive read it's not that difficult just takes a little time and patience. Think anyone would be interested in the takeoff gripframe, trigger and hammer?
Funny, but was gonna acquire those very parts for my Bisley until I found out how good the Bisley grip frame really is!
BTW, chigsgrips makes really great Bisley grip panels to your specs.
It depends if you just want a Gary Reeder fit or an Alan Harton fit. Night and day...
This is a New Model Blackhawk convertable (357/9mm) converted to Bisley. Had a local smith fit the stainless forged grip frame. Only complaint, he bead blasted it instead of polishing it.
I have one and didnt know it till CrimsonTide pointed it out to me at a 24HR pig hunt one year, It's a stainless Ruger Super Blackhawk with the 10.5" tapered barrel instead of the heavier 10.5" barreled silhouette model. it's a very comfortable, and accurate revolver with 340gr Rimrocks over a charge of H-110 for 1250 fps.
