Saw one today, marked both C100 and 55. Also marked both Canik and Tristar (importer?).
Looms like a knock off of the 15 round CZ-75 compact.

Always kinda liked the CZ, but I don't know anything about this one.
Price is right but I need some input. Does anyone have any experience or real world info about them?

Thanks all.

I got a nickel plated one real cheap. Works just as good as my CZ

Thanks Blair.

Anyone else have a take on these?

Thanks again,

Yap had a c 100 works just fine not a problem on and it's actually quite a bit lighter to carry than actual CZ

It's not the gun you asked about, but I recently picked up one of the striker fired Canik 9mm pistols (the TP9SFX competition model) and am really impressed with it. Quality is way better than I expected for a cheap gun, and accuracy is very impressive. I don't know if those attributes transfer to the 75 clones, but if they do it could be worth a try.

Is it steel frame or aluminum?

My BIL runs one of those with no complaints, It's accurate and eats anything he runs through it.

Aluminum or alloy

Aluminum frame. Definitely not a heavy gun, not a flyweight either.
I pick mine up next week.

I looked at one this week, nice looking for the price. don't know how accurate or reliable they are.

First, Canik is a real world military contractor. They have a world class factory and they are capable of producing very good guns. I have yet to come across a "bad" Canik. What I like about their CZ knock offs is they make a full size with an aluminum frame, that's kick ass!

The all steel, full sized, CZ75 is rather light for an all steel pistol at around 32-34oz for a full sized pistol. So when you go aluminum, you're talking like 27-28oz on a full sized service pistol. The compacts are super nice as well. The only "down" side to the Canik's is they are not parts interchangeable with CZ (I suspect they designed the trigger group like the Tanfoglio). So Cajun Gun Works parts don't fit, but I suspect Cajun is working on it because lots of people are buying the Canik's.

In short, I'd buy one.

Well it's home, and I got a chance to look it over at my own pace.

The big thing that jumps out at me is how immaculately well fit the slide, frame and barrel are to each other. I knew it was tight, but once home I found that there just isn't any detectable play in this pistol. And its very smooth in operation, no hitches or tight spots, including barrel lug engagement. I'm more than pleasantly surprised.

I'm wondering if this is normal or if I just got lucky.

Gonna try to make some time for the range over the weekend.

Snuck over to the range today with 2 Canik's - the C100 and a TP9SA.
Nothing formal but they both shot fine. I ran a some reloads of unknown origin through each. No hiccups at all, but it does shoot low. Had no problem hitting the same bowling pin again and again quickly with it so not a big deal. On paper I was around 3" (round groups) at roughly 40 feet, basically making sure it went bang instead of trying for any accuracy.

Not the best at posting pics (or shooting - I really need to get to the range more!) But when I tried 5 more deliberate shots, the C100 shot a nearly horizontal string around 2" wide or a little over at 50 feet. The stringing was me - I definitely struggled to keep the front sight square in the rear notch. I feel like it was partially from trigger pull which is a bit heavy, and that my stance, grip and focus weren't so hot. I'm sure that even a bum like me could shoot it tighter on a different day.

So, a very good first impression from the little gun.
Ordered the Cajun 3 spring kit plus the trigger return and sear springs before I left the range. Since I'm only into it for the $150 I paid plus springs, I'm going to find out what sights are available for it. A night sight dot front and a no-snag adjustable rear would be nice. Dont know if its out there.

The TP9 shot well also, although I tended to dip that gun rather than wave it side to side. Like I said, the biggest thing I learned today is how my shooting skills need some maintenance.

A pic - TP9 on the left, C100 on the right. POA are the 2 target dots above them.

I shot a friend's C100 a couple of days ago - very nice.

I own a full-sized Baby Eagle in .40 S&W (purchased ~1994 just before Clinton's background check law came into effect), and the Canik is every bit as solid and nice.

Just talked to my son who bought 3 of the Canik TP series pistols a while back...3 different sizes. He says about 1000 rounds total so far with no problems. He’s favorably impressed by the apparent quality. He said he thinks if the CZ 75 clone is comparable quality you wouldn’t be wishing you’d spent another couple hundred bucks on the CZ

Traded into a Canik compact Stingray several years ago, I like it a lot.
