I want to put one on a takedown 10/22. Recommendations for a brand? Thanks.
I've had good luck with these but I had to loctite the schit out of them.

Deflave,

Which part/parts are loctited?

And did you put them on a take-down?

Check out Skinner sights - they make couple of versions for 10/22, including a barrel-mounted rear sight for takedowns. I have a skinner rear sight on my Marlin Mountie .22 - happy with it.

I've got XS Sights on one of mine and like them a LOT.

I use the same and had the same issue with the adjustment screws loosening. Pretty good little product if the comb of the stock isn't to high.....have to use uber high rings (depending on the scope) to clear the aperture if that's part of the plan.

I've used the Williams Foolproof on several 10/22's but the receiver has to be drilled and tapped.
My current 10/22 has that sight mounted on it.
No problems in the years I've used it.
Just a comment. I've got a Skinner on my Marlin 39a. They are very nice, well built sights.
I have a Ruger (factory I think) peep site for the 10/22 that I wont use. If your interested in it let me know and I’ll ship it to you. If you decide you want something else then find a good home for it and pass it down the road.
I got it in a bunch of parts I bought a couple years ago.

All of them.

Yes. A takedown and a full size sporter as well.

I have not used that 10/22 model but I had the SA 22 version which was very similar. i.e. uses the existing rear sight location.

It worked waaay better than I'd anticipated.
Based on experience with the WGRS and a Skinner "860 Reliable" it's a good idea to loctite any peep sight used on the receiver of a 10/22. The vibration of the bolt whacking back and forth tends to loosen small screws. The only exception to that I've found is the Williams Foolproof, have had one on a 1968 10/22 for (2020-1968) years and it's stayed zeroed forever with nothing coming loose. But as noted previously you have to D&T the side of the receiver, and make sure whoever does that keeps the holes level and positioned forward enough that you don't need to relieve the stock for the elevation slide.

Also, every peep sight I know of for this that's mounted on the receiver will need a higher front sight. Can't speak to the barrel mounted ones.

Many years ago, when carbine rear sights were plentiful and cheap, I mounted one on my 10-22. I cut a dovetail in a Weaver scope mount to fit the carbine sight. Had to put a riser under the original front sight to get it on target. Worked out very nice. I’ll post a pic of it some day.

I wonder if the purple loctite would work on the adjustment screws?
Keep them tight but allow them to turn when needed?
I have been using a Skinner sight on a couple of .22 rifles. They stay put once they are adjusted and are very accurate.

Tech Sight TSR 100.

or TSR 200 with elevation in the rear sight. The TSR 100 uses an adjustable front post.
