Looking for a med. priced scope for my Ruger 10/22. Want a 1" tube in 4x or a lower power variable. Seems every thing local is out of stock. Any help is appreciated.
Find yourself an old El Paso Weaver K2.5 or one of the Leupold 2.5X compacts.
Leupy 2.5X Compact
Either one is fully capable of delivering the goods.
Simmons 22 Mag 4x with rings, around $50 at various on line dealers would qualify as low priced but they seem to work pretty well.
I’d just get an 1-6 scope for ARs
Look in the classifieds in here
Burris droptine 3-9x40 rimfire scope 200019. Parallax set at 50 yards and has a clean ballistic plex reticle. Can be bought around 125$
Looks like a nice option.....
I appreciate the help. Ill check um.
The Burris would be a good choice
I normally like 4x12 or larger. But I just picked up a 1.5x5 luepold. Can wait to try it. Hasbeen
A Nikon or Leupold efr are very nice.
I am a big fan of Burris. I don't think you can go wrong with that Droptine.
Someone (Tnbigbore, maybe) had an early model Nikon low powered variable for sale in the free classifieds.
Edited to ad - scope has sold.
Leupold 2-7x left at 4 LOL.
Ran a VXIII 2.5-8x like that, a VX1 and Freedom 2-7x same way.
The new EFR freedom 3-9x.....looks like chit w more cylinder type eyebell.
Mine has a halo/ shadow around outer edge....maybe due to objective lens recessed so far?
It did dial right in and worked......but looked like crap on anything classic.
Be OK maybe on a AR looking rig.
There is a reason why old EFR scopes have high asking prices. I wont pay it though. Not for a CZ455 thats just gonna splatter pineys

I like low power CF scopes on a .22LR. Currently I have a Leupold Vari-x 3 1.5-5x 20 on my Ruger.
We have put that simmons scope on a bunch of 22's for a youth shooting team. They all seem to work well.
I have a 4x M8 laying around, and a no sights new take off 10/22 bbl.
LGS got an older birch 10/22 in, clean...........
might just have to pizz more $ down the drain LOL
OK, don't laugh but...
I just put a KonusPro 1.5-5x32 on an accurate 10-22, and it works like a charm.
I bought it here not too long ago and had it earmarked for a muzzleloader.
But its clear, has a fine crosshair etched reticle and focuses well down to 10 feet (or less) at 1.5X and is still focused at 100 yards on 5X. I didn't have much trouble hitting stuff the size of bigger bottlecaps (like one from a bottle of bleach) at 100 yards because I could see everything well. So its staying where it is, or possibly moving to another rimfire.
I don't know anything else about Konus but that little scope punches above its price class. If it had a basic ballistic plex the way Burris and Weaver do, I'd really be loving it.
Why laugh?
If it works.... run it.
Typically a 4X big game scope is low enough in mag to work (be in focus) at 25 yards on a .22lr.
Found a 4x Weaver B4 El Paso with the Weaver mounts cleaning out my Dad's Home office after he passed.
Its in great shape. Had to remove and clean the objective and ocular lenses as they were very gunked up.
Anyway its going on grandads 69a.
That's one heckuva group!!
