I been keeping my eye out for a JW-15 for a few months now.
They are not scarce but, imo, way over priced right now. Doubt they will drop, folks seem willing to part with $350-$400 fo ones in better condition.
The is one available on-line that, with shipping and fees would cost my $402 exactly.
I'd sure like one of these to fool with, but, at that kind of price, I can get a Tikka TX-1 for not much more money, NIB.
No real value in any of the Norinco's I can find.

They were fantastic guns for the money when you could order them for $72.00 or so, but there's no way I put $350-$400 in one.

I have a bunch of JW-15 5 and 10 shot magazines I would like to sell if anyone is interested.

I bought one back when they were under $100. Accuracy was comparable to other bolt action 22 sporter rifles at that time. The only problem was the bore wasn't centered in the barrel. Never occurred to me to look for that when I bought it.

the bar clones of browning .22's made by norinco are pretty nice. they were under 100 dollars at k-mart.

I’ve won a lot of shooting matches with my JW-15 shooting against much more expensive rifles (payed $135 for mine) but I don’t think I’d pay over $200-250 for one personally. It sure does shoot though!

Bought one from a friend. He shortened the barrel, apparently, unlike most 22's the barrel had been heat treated and was harder than hell.

They were an OK gun for the price, plenty accurate just didn't care for the wood finish and the metalwork was a bit rough. Should have kept it for a truck gun though.

For $400 you're pretty close to a CZ 452 which it's basically a clone of.

I've got one NIB that I bought a couple years ago for $150, not even sure where in the house it is....for $400 I should put it on gunbroker.

I had the same thoughts of wanting to mess around with one of those rifles. This summer I picked one up for under $200 in a local auction. I scoped it and it shot pretty miserable to be honest. I shot it at 60 yards and it was 2-3” with several different brands of ammo. Bedded it and free-floated the barrel and accuracy didn’t get better

I ended up pulling the barrel and fitting a bee CZ take-off barrel to it by turning off the threads and drilling the pin hole. It ended up shooting 5/8-3/4” groups. Overall it’s really not bad, trigger on this one is better than I’ve read about others IMO and the feeding/ejection is a bit better than a 453 I have. Now that accuracy is very decent I like it quite a bit.

I bought one for my father in law way back when they were $100. Excellent shooter with the ugliest stock I have seen. The trigger doesn't adjust very well, but it is very shootable. They make a great knock around .22. The biggest problem now is finding spare mags.

The CZ 452/452 etc are supposed to work in the Norinco. I haven’t tried one yet but read several places that they do.

I have a JW-15 and can vouch for several comments.
Bore is not centered in barrel.
Barrel is very hard. Previous owner messed up the muzzle end with something attached by set screws. Cut off an inch and had a heck of a time using a Manson crown tool to finish it.
CZ452 mags work in it just fine.
Accuracy is quite good for a cheap sporter. On par with any CZ that I've shot.
Wood is soft and doesn't respond well to refinishing. I ended up going with paint/webbing.
