Mossberg Chuckster & other model offset scope rings

After searching for a few days I finally found a pair of scope rings to fit my Chuckster. If anyone else needs a set here are the details.

Here's the solution for those hard to scope Mossbergs from 1949-1986. Matte Black pair of offset rings for Mossberg 22's with grooved receivers, 140, 142, 144, 146, 151, 152, 250, 340, 341, 342, 344, 346, 350, 351, 352, 353, 377, 380, 640 all variants. Rear ring cantilevers back for proper eye relief with small mounting footprint, allows you to mount a modern 1" scope properly. Shown on Mossberg Model 341.

I've got a 640M that I plan to get scoped once I'm more ambulatory.

Ah, the old Mossberg Chuckster .22 mag. was my buddy and my first varmint rifle. I think that we both had those 3/4” .22 scopes on clamp mounts on them and just taking them out of the gun case seemed to change the poi. Going to the range first thing in the morning to re sight in was an early memory. Not that we could have even afforded a quality 1” scope with our adolescent incomes, but I’ll bet a good scope on that Chuckster sure would have made into a better varmint rifle.

Same experience with my first chuckster in 1961. I now have a Chuckster albeit Western Field that is an absolute tack driver with 40gr Winchester or CCI....its fitted with a Weaver K-4.

Ha ha. Ya think? My chuckster shoots 3/8" 10 shot groups at 50 yards, with the ammo it likes. Mounting a scope is simple too, no need for special mounts. Right now it wears target irons though:

My dad wore this rifle out when he was a kid, but I replaced all the critical parts like extractor, ejector and all the springs. Works like a new rifle now and still shoots good.
