My son recently got a browning BL-22 lever action rifle. The receiver is short so the dovetail is also short. Had a Simmons 22 mag here for my nephews gun and tried it on the Browning. It doesn't work. No way to push it forward enough to get any sight picture. I considered ordering a Leupold rimfire scope but didn't want to spend the money and have the same issue. Has anyone mounted a scope on this rifle and what was the scope/ring combination.
Thanks,
Max
Would something like this work?

Vic and Cheryl Havlin sell a style of off-set mounts for Mossbergs with a receiver design that makes mounting a scope impossible with conventional .22 rings. They may work for your situation.

Their business is called Havlin Sales & Service in Festus, MO, and the part number is 274M. Their web site is havlinsales.com
They make dovetail to weaver rails, may stick out some at front of receiver.

Heres one for example, not real sexy though.

Dont knock it but a red dot like a burris FF would fun on a bl22.
uhh, yeah......

My BL-22 wears a gloss Leupold 4X rimfire scope in Leupold rings and all is fine.
thank you all for the input and knowledge
Huntsman,

Does that red dot fit a rimfire grooved receiver, or are you using a special mount? That's precisely the set-up I'm trying to put on my BL 22. It looks great on such a light .22.
Red dot

Hunts, what kind of red dot is that, and red or green?
Burris FF II, red
Thanks, Don
