I like my Sparrow SS and TBAC Takedown 22. My DA Mask should be here in a month or so.....

Curious what you’ll think of the Mask when it arrives.
I have 2, they are my favorite of my 4 rimfire cans, being rated up to 5.7x28 is a definite plus.

DA Mask gets a ton of recommendations

I have the silencerco switchback, I like being able to configure it different ways.

I have a Dead Air Mask in ATF jail. The research I've done on it shows it has low first round pop. Heard good things about the TBAC Takedown 22.

The couple folks I know that have them say the same thing. That being said, my switchback will have one with standards about half the time. Of course no first round pop with semi auto quiets or subs.

killerv, can't wait to get my Dead Air Mask! It will probably be awhile as I just did paperwork late November and get email Dec 9 that ATF "cash my check".

I'll probably get the TBAC Takedown 22 has my next suppressor. I was advise to wait few months before starting paperwork on the second so as to have them staggered.

They are supposedly about to implement a new efile system that will greatly reduce the wait.

I have a Dead Air Mask out of jail and it is my go to suppressor. I have a Sparrow as well, but the Mask is my favorite .22 suppressor that I have shot.

Another vote for the Mask as I have 2 of them myself.

I have a Surefire Ryder 22A. It's really light, but the aluminum baffles make for more involved cleaning (by hand). I don't know that I would buy an all-aluminum suppressor, again. I got this one cheap, so I really can't really complain.

I bought a Dead Air Mask in June, and it's still in jail. Last month, I ordered a TBAC Takedown 22.

I still want the Banish 22 rimfire suppressor. It's about the same weight as my Ryder 22A, but the titanium baffles should be easier to clean via case tumbler or ultrasonic cleaner.

The Griffin Optimus Micro is interesting. It's a little heavy for a strictly-rimfire can, but you can use it on a 16" .223 Rem, and the price isn't much more than a high-end rimfire can.

I have a Tion Minutman all titanium and light at 3.9 ounces. So far very pleased with it but I've not shot it enough yet to need to pull it apart and clean it.

I'm shooting the Silencer Co Spectre 2 and Silencer Co Switchback. They're both outstanding but the Switchback is the best can on the market in terns of sound and flexibility IME.

From the side by side comparisons I've seen, the Dead Air Mask HD is an outstanding performer as well. If I couldn't get my hands on a Silencer Co Switchback, I'd be perfectly happy with a DA Mask HD.

Here's a video that compares the Silencer Co Switchback (in all it's configurations) with the Thunder Beast 22 Takedown. They use professional sound measuring equipment and compare the units side by side so differing atmospheric conditions aren't an issue.
Spoiler alert - the SC Switchback is 5-6db quieter in its switchback (reversed baffle) config.

Just about anything will work on a rifle. Though I'd avoid the 'stuff' that has to be shot wet or that has a wiper on it.

I've got two Tactical Innovations "Quests", great on a rifle. First-round pop on a pistol is not hearing safe.

I've got a Dead Air Mask, almost no FRP, and it is hearing safe on a pistol.

I wouldn't buy anything but a Dead Air Mask after my experience with it.

I would love to get a suppressor but im not excited about the atf interaction
Posted By: huntsman22 Re: Suppressor - 12/23/21
The only interaction I've had with ATF, is writing a check for the tax stamp....

Not a big deal.....don't let that hold you back. There are very few items in the firearm world more fun than a quality rimfire suppressor!

I have had a number of screw on and integral suppressors made by TBA in Ashland, Virginia. He makes the best I have seen and shot and does fantastic design with great tolerances because he has been a race engine designer and mechanic for years.

He made an integral CZ 452 and a .308 DPMS and I also have an integral AR-15. The .22LR CZ is so quiet you only hear the bullet hit its target. It just looks like a bull barrel rifle! (No one knows it is a suppressed rifle until they can't hear it shoot and ask what I am shooting!)

I am currently waiting on a screw on suppressor from TBA for my HK VP9. I am into the 10th month of waiting when I was first promised 7 months from the BATFE. They just keep saying they are backed up. Terrible. Why not just tell everyone it is at least a year.

It's the long wait time that's the hardest, at least for me.

E file just opened up for Form 4s. They're thinking 90 days will be the norm.

That's really good news!
