Anyone have experience with one of these. Saw one in lgs today that looks excellent. Has the case, wrench and several extra magazines of various capacities. What would be a fair price? Thanks for your thoughts.
I had a blued/wood Papoose way back when, 1980s. It was surprisingly accurate. I just finger tightened the barrel nut. Left it behind during a hasty divorce. Dumb. No idea what they are selling for these days.
I ran across one still in the box about a year ago. I think it as marked 299.
They're running about $300 for the wood one and the stainless steel with the synthetic stock of seeing them go for $400.
i got a used steel marlin papoose 7-8 years ago from its sole owner for $300. i’m not that accurate anyway so i can’t speak for the rifle’s accuracy. i really like it as an almost everyplace legal trunk gun, very easily secured in a nondescript gym bag. at $300 i would look for ruger 10/22 takedown or charger t.d. (not all state legal), or a perhaps henry lever action carbine, which isn’t a t.d. per se but breaks down easily enough.
