He’s been home all week after catching the Rona. Of course he’s been fine, just bored. Took him to the range today to break in his new 10/22. Got it sighted in at 25yds to start with as the wind was blowing pretty good. The guy next to us with his Ruger American .308 with a muzzle brake was the worst of it.
Only a few hiccups. I’m thinking that the custom charging handle I made might be adding just enough weight to not allow the bolt to come back fast enough. It was ejecting at 2 o’clock, which didn’t seem right. Had just a couple stovepipes over 250 rds or so. You think putting a lighter spring or cutting a couple coils might help with that? Other than that, we were pretty happy with it.

Ptarmigan: That does my heart good to see that youngster all bundled up and yet intensely concentrating on his task!
Brings back memories from LONG ago.
Thanks for sharing and I consider your posting and pictures as the "best news of the week".
Please pass along my congratulations to the young one on the great shooting!

Good to see. Plant the seed early and watch it grow.
Most kids would prefer to be watching tv or playing with their electronics....nice to see your post, thanks for sharing.
A time with a boy and his Dad at the range. Great times!!! Many memories!
To keep our sport going we need more like him.
Glad to hear he didn’t have a bad time with the virus.
Good times ptarmigan… always good to get the kids out pulling triggers

Wonderful! Wish my step grandson had that interest. If it is internet or tv, he is out.
Good times!!
I have no sons - only daughters. But I think I did just fine. They take turns spotting and shooting.
