I own a Henry Small Game Carbine. It is very accurate and aside from poor wood to metal fit, I like it a lot. While hunting for squirrels this past winter I managed to drop the rifle on the snowy, wet but hard ground. Now I don't have to worry about the poor looking fitting, as I gouged the wood from the fall. Almost became ill.

With that in mind, I now want to purchase a sling for this rifle. At one time I saw an ad for a sling that offered a leather wrap-around butt cuff and a leather barrel holder that was not attached to the magazine tube. Can't find it now. All I find is the type that attaches to the magazine tube with a metal clamp by tightening with an allen screw. I think that may eventually mar the metal finish.

Looking for input and opinions.

Thanks in advance.

They usually come with a piece of tape to go between the clamp and the mag tube, or use a piece of electrical tape. The slings that cinch to the barrel are going to mar the finish over time also if you carry it alot.

this universal, loop only, non swivel, sling works fine on a h&r single shotgun; i imagine that it would be okay too on a henry carbine or any long gun.

X2. It'll leave rub marks on the barrel like holster wear.
