Got my marlin 99 from the auction today, not a bad looking rifle, well used or at least got carried a lot, still have to run one of my bore scopes through it, but shot some rounds through in the workshop and it functions well and appears accurate, will know more when I can get to the range, so far I like it.

I scored one in great condition a couple years back, I guess the store just thought it was a regular old model 60. Got it for 100 bucks otd.

I ran across a m1 model 99 later at same store, they knew what it was though, priced at 350.

Did you get the rear sight with your Marlin 99?

I have a 99M1, no serial number, that came with a cheap 4x 3/4" .22 scope and no rear sight. Guys who put scopes on their 99s must have put the rear sights someplace so safe that they didn't go with the rifle when the rifle was sold or traded and are now either unobtainable or priced close to what the rifle cost when it was new.

Mine is the tubular magazine style, but I think that there is also one with a detachable magazine.

My 99M1 is a different rifle from your 99.
