Stainless version with aftermarket Pachmeyer grips. Cool part was the three magazines it came with that also work in my 41 and a Hammerli.

I carried the 422 for years on elk/grouse hunts as it was lighter than the 2206.

They lay flat and carry nicely in a holster, enjoy!

You are right, it is too heavy for carrying, but who does not have a drawer full of other .22s for that job? Just found oem grips for it that just happened to be in a box from the same estate sale.

I picked up a 2206 a few years ago, love it! It's a chunk but feels good to me.

Are the Pachmyer grips much different?

My wife won a 2206 with 6 magazines. She loves it. I find it to be a very fun gun to shoot. I picked up an aftermarket barrel nut that is threaded 1/2x28. With it’s very low bore axis the iron sights will still be usable with a silencer on it.

I’ve a few,including a 2206 TGT S/S Walnut,with fair sights. Hint.

If/when talking that much mass,I greatly prefer my 41’s. Hint……….

I've owned a few 422s, 622s, and 2206s since the 422s were introduced back in 1987. I prefer to carry the alloy frame 422s and 622s, but I shoot the heavier 2206s better as they hold steadier for me. I converted a 2206 with fixed sights into a 2206 TGT clone with parts sourced from GPC a decade of so ago and found that their after-market synthetic target stocks fit my hand better than any others that I've tried and they were the least expensive at under $20 per set. They aren't 41/46 accurate 'cause the trigger aren't in the same league, but they are stainless and the 4.5" version is quite a bit more compact.

The one thing that I don't like about any of that series of pistols is the position of the cocking indicator, a pin on the bottom of the pistol grip. When they are carried in a hip holster, it is easy to bump the pin into the stock of the long gun that you're carrying and could easily dent a wooden stock or gouge a synthetic stock. Carry in a cross-draw or shoulder holster obviates the problem, but it is a lesson usually learned after the damage has been done.
