Rumor has it that Winchester is introducing their Expert rimfire bolt action in 17WSM chambering at SHOT. Would stand to reason that they would then or also, ramp up the 17WSM ammo pipeline - but stranger things have happened.
Any thoughts on the 17WSM?
Huge fan of the little WSM Wi!
I have a Ruger that shoots about any of the ammo available really well. From the 25 grain WW stuff to the 17 grain AE ammo. All of it shoots well and man, that little guy has some decent reach. I really enjoy it.
Mine resides in my truck post big game season for opportune times at crows and coyotes. I put it in the tractor when I am bushhogging in the summer. Just a handy rifle.
I like and shoot a .17Wizzum... A frizzing' Ruger.
Will someday have something in a better rifle.
Like the cartridge ....but I have oddball chit.
Winchester is producing the rifles, ordered 8 of them Tuesday. Will run around $350 and up depending on the bells and whistles. Done got one ear marked for me. I hope ruger responds with an American.
I've always liked the idea of a hotter rimfire round for Predators. The 22mag. always worked favorable for me, but it sure could have used some longer reach. Missed buying a Ruger and don't like the looks of the Savage, so I'll be inline to get a Winchester.
No, the 17WSM will be available in the
XPERT rimfire. XPR is a center-fire.
Got an email out to Q, asking if my El Camino suppressor is up to the task if attached to the 17WSM. If the answer is 'Yes', I can see a 17WSM coming home with me at some point.
