Is there anything that needs to be done when converting a model 96 to a 17HM2 other that changing the barrel?

I've read over on "rimfire central" about this convirsion. Am thinking you need a barrel specifically for the 96. If using a 10/22 barrel a "washer" has to be used to take up extra space. Check out rimfire central for the whole story.
