Im looking to buy a 17 on a budget and saw that stevens offered a heavy barreled 17.

Have any of you guys shot one of these? What do you think about them?

Triggers suck, but they shoot well.

Isn't there better after market triggers for this rifle?

Possibly, but a good smith can fix them for probably the same, or less money out

The Stevens RF rifles are the same as the pre-A/T Savage RFs and have that same gray colored plastic stocks as the 200s. Rifle BaSix makes an after-market sear, but the factory pre-A/T trigger/sear can be tuned pretty easily to be both light and crisp.
