had an a-bolt in 22mag...shot great, and functioned fine with no problems.

Stock design didnt fit me well though, grip angle and drop at heel just didnt feel right, and i moved it on down the road.

I've had one since the late 80's. Very accurate, flawless performance, and well made. Stock fits me just fine. Can't go wrong with one if you want a bolt action .22LR.

Fit, finish, accuracy and dependability are all good. I've always thought it would take a lot more money to get a better rimfire bolt gun. I really like them as a rim fire trainer when using A-bolt center fire rifles.

I have a .22 and had a .22 mag. Like a dummy I traded the .22 mag. for something else I just had to have. Easily one of the three most bone head trades I've ever made. I have a CZ 452 .22 mag. now and like it, but I wish I had the Browning back.

I got my daughter her own A-bolt .22 and .308 when she began shooting and hunting with me. Anyway, I like them.

I have Browning A-Bolt rifles in both .22LR and .22WMR. They are well made, beautiful, and accurate rifles.

Had one in 22 Mag, had bedding issues but Browning fixed it. Like a bonehead traded it off once it was fixed, wish I had it back. Fine rifles.
Had a couple 22 lr's over the years and both functioned fine, I liked the stock (very pretty) I didn't like the pop can metal they used for the trigger guards though also the two I had weren't what I would consider to be "Tack drivers" in the accuracy department either, accuracy was only OK................Hb

I had one in 22 mag. Like an idiot, I traded for a Ruger 77 22 mag. Can't remember why, but that was a major down grade. And the Ruger had poor accuracy and is gone.
I had a beauty, but it shot like my ex cooked. So, down the road she went. Traded for a nifty little 94cl 218 Bee. It shot even worse. Killed a big cat and gave it to a friend headed on a cat hunt for good luck.

I still have one and it did/does not shoot great (I expect less than 1/2" groups from my .22s at 50yds and the best I could get was around 3/4" to 1" with the factory barrel) - which had some severe "chatter" marks in the last two inches of the barrel. Figured that this was the "problem" so I took two inches off the barrel to eliminate the bore flaw and recrowned - accuracy did not change. Next I free floated the barrel and bedded the action....still no change (Would ALWAYS have one or two flyers in my 5 shot groups). Then I put on a new Pac-nor match grade barrel and chambered it with a match "speced" reamer.....shoots a bit better but still it not hold a candle to my CZ452, Remington 541s, Anschutz 1710, Kleinguenther K-22, Winchester sporters (52 & 75), Remington 513s, etc.....I am still tinkering because I do like this way this rifle fits me and handles in the squirrel woods. I just want to stay under 0.5" CONSISTENTLY frown.

Really do like the A-bolt .22 and since I have been messing with it have found through the various forums that it can be a real hit or miss with these rifles - I apparently got an inconsistent one eek So if yours shoots you will enjoy the rifle, for the time period when they were made they were up there in overall quality. Just my 2 cents smile
