OK, so I'm a little bored tonight and I figured I'd post something. But what to post?
So I thought I'd take a new approach to "what's the best X" and set up a peoples choice voting contest for the slick little levers that are out there.

So cast your vote between these 2. Ill post another thread for the Marlin 36A vs the Henry.

Once we have a winner in each they can go "head to head", at least here on the campfire.

For the record, I don't have any rules about why you like one over the other. I just want to see how much respect the different rifles get, for whatever reasons, and give people a thread to make their call.

From my experience the micro groove Marlins (later ones) would beat any with most ammo. The 9422 being in second place. My Winchesters have always had a better trigger.

I did a safe trigger job on the 39A. It is a tough job to do right, but is well worth it.

I put receiver sights on all. No sweat with the Marlin and Winchester. That extra sight radius helps a lot. Plus with old eyes the peep makes it much better.

I'd love to see that too.

But I'd settle for accuracy opinions from people who have had them all.
I know that the Marlin has a long standing reputation for accuracy, but every Winchester that I've shot (OK, two of them...) or know about has been exceptionally accurate. And I don't have any direct experience with the Brownings. I suspect that they are good shooters too.

My sons Henry is more accurate than my old Marlin 39.

Maybe it is his eyes vs your eyes. Ha!

I've shot them both, scoped from a bench with many different kinds of ammo. Like it or not, the Henry is more accurate.

I don't give a $h!T. Nothing to do with liking or not. Henrys are POS. Plastic front sights made in New Jersey. What not to like.

They do not hold their value for a reason.

Scope on a lever action rifle. That say's a lot.

Listen douche bag, I've been hunting winchester and marlin levers for over 40 years and have likely killed more game with them by a factor of 10 over anything you've dreamed about. My winchesters wear receiver peeps and always have. I've killed about everything that walks, hops, fly's or crawls with those rifles, sometimes at ranges and from positions that most wouldn't try with a scoped bolt action. I've shot birds on the wing, rabbits, deer and coyotes on the run and at 55 years old with failing eyesight I can still shoot groups under 2" all day long from 100 yards with irons. I don't need a dumbf*ck like you telling me what's proper on a lever gun. Furthermore, I don't really give a shyt what you or anybody else thinks of them, hell I ain't wild about them myself but that doesn't change the fact that my sons cheap Henry is more accurate than my Marlin. Oh, and one last bit of information for your ignorant azz, Henry's don't have plastic front sights anymore and haven't for quite some time. Capiche ?

9422 for me but the Browning is a nice one too. I like the trigger on the Winchester a bit better.

The Winchester 94/22 is a classic, no doubt about it, but my vote still goes to the BL22. Light, accurate, and the trigger rides with the lever as it's cycled. we have three in the family, for a very good reason.
