Don't normally shop at Dick's for ammo, but picked up 30/50rd boxes of Hornady 30gr V-max 22mag for a little over $8 a box and 40 boxes of Eley subsonic for 5.28/box. The Eley was on closeout. The 22mag was buy one get the 2nd half off, coupled with some sort of coupon my wife had, made for a pretty good deal.
Good deals! Best I found lately is Midsouth;
Hornady 22 WMR 30g ~$10,
Hornady 17HMR ~$9,
Aguila SV ~$200/case (5000rnds)
Occasionally better deals pop up other places but you have to watch shipping charges. Midsouth’s rates always seem fair to me. Think I paid $13 to have the Aguila shipped.
Crappie Killer: My friend was travelling through Washington State this long weekend and came across Hornady 17 HMR 17 grain V-Max ammunition for $7.99 (seven dollars and ninety nine cents!) a box at the Bi-Mart chain store. He was also tax exempt and bought 3 cartons (1,500 rounds - 30 boxes) for just under $240.00!
Now that is a deal.
The sport shop I went to had the same ammo on sale for $10.00 a box (no sales tax).
Normally my travelling friend buys ammo for "me" when he comes across great deals but in this case he wouldn't share.
He did say he had to "sweet talk" the counter-clerk into selling him that many boxes - and he did not relay to me, that I remember, how many boxes the store would normally allow one customer to buy.
Yes its so energizing to see rimfire ammo available and being affordable of recent!
Hold into the wind

Loaded up on .17's from Midsouth when they had a shipping deal and 8.69/box ammo. Ended up being 180.04 for 1000 rounds to my door.

Says the pot to the kettle...
Back on topic: lanbosarmory.com has pretty good buys on .22lr and just about anything. Worth a look.
I just ordered a pile of rimfire from these folks. I had never heard of them, but in doing my research, I read good reviews. Their prices are better than most, and they stock a LOT.

SK Standard Plus ammo shoots very well in my 22 rifles. Consistent and very few fliers. Made by Lapua and I read it is comparable to Wolf. Price here was best I could find. About $4.80 a box including shipping.

Graf's had Federal 500 round bricks for $19.99, honestly never thought I would see sub $20 bricks of any kind again. The one thing the shortage forced me to do was look for alternatives. I finally tried the Aguila (sp?) and Geco stuff and found both to have acceptable accuracy. I am a big fan of SK/Wolf and CCI mini-mag, but having options is nice.
Local Pawn Shop had a brick of SK Standard on the shelf, $40 out the door. Wish they had a case. It had been there a while, I just finally asked what they wanted for it. Without any haggle, they said how about $40, I took my wallet out and paid the man.
The order came in today. I ordered it Saturday, so shipping was reasonably quick. I assume they were closed when I placed the order. It didn't ship until Monday. It was the first time I had ordered from them, and I was pleased with the way it worked out. They have a substantial stock of 22 magnum as low as $7.99 per box.
I have read that it is really good stuff. I ordered 2 boxes in my big order. If it does well, I'll stock up from Ammunintion Store. Their bulk prices are better.

Are you saying Lapua SK and Wolf are the same? I looked for country of origin on the boxes I ordered and couldn't find it.

SK loads both their own ammo and Wolf 22LR. Its been common knowlege in the rimfre world for about 10 years now.
Wolf 22LR was SK jagd ammo even before SK brand rimfire was sold in the US .
