Thinking about getting something like this Caldwell for shooting my hand guns out behind my house but I thought I'd check with the panel of experts here first.

And please don't waste your breath telling me to make my own as I have no metal working tools or skills.
I have one of those walking steel targets. Every time you hit it, it moves a little farther away. I really like the little sucker.....
That sounds fun....I'll keep an eye out for one.....

unless of course you care to share the manufacturers name with me.
Depending your surroundings, that bottom pivoting, top reset target could be a concern for ricochets up and out, instead of down into the dirt....I know I have to make sure there’s side burns for my dueling trees, or they’ll eat up stuff next to them....other targets and such.
Good point but since I live in the woods I'm shooting in a pretty steep drainage so there's basically berms within 10 feet on three sides. Therefore I'm not too concerned with ricochets.
I'd go with something like these recycled targets, or maybe repurposed.
WTFIWWY?
Wut...who doesn't like shooting cans and bottles filled with water?
Bought the wife one of these animal resetting targets to play with, while I was using centerfire.
She liked it at first, and it can be fun, but soon became bored with it, as shooting empty shotgun shells , and other random targets at different ranges, was more fun.

Those swinging steel plinking targets work great. I'm an inveterate do-it-yourselfer but even I know not to try and beat the cost effectiveness of a store-bought one.
Cholly, these are what I mentioned. A guy on here was selling them 6-7 years ago. I did find something similar on amazon....
