Picked up a 1987 Buckmark in the box with Browning holster that still had the tag on the back of it. Goes well with an old '87 catalog I had at the house. 225 plus tax. Did I need it...of course not. I recognized the old price tags from a local store it came from years ago, dealer cost was 135.

All that being said, have there been any major changes between the earlier and newer buckmarks?

Killerv: Great score there - over the last ten+ years I have grown very fond of the Browning Buck-Mark line.
I have several of them (and one Browning Buck Mark heavy barrel Rifle) and they all function reliably and are quite accurate.
I opt for the heavy barrel Buck Mark pistols though, where yours appears to be a "middle weight" barreled pistol?
Along with that quality Browning holster that indeed was a great "pawn shop find"!

I guess its the "standard" barrel. I actually have a heavy barrel stainless model I picked up a couple years ago. It's a sweet shooter.

There will be a buckmark rifle in my future, would love to pickup a nice clean used one. Probably pickup an auto-22 first.

Father in law for some reason gave my sister in law his old auto-22. She left it at our house for years, he said to just keep it for my two boys. Well sure enough, she came looking for it. I'm sure it ended up in a pawn shop to help pay for some of her many legal fees.

That's the standard bbl, which I think looks best.
Pops had the target models (round bbl).........5.5, 10 and 14".
Target models have trigger overtravel screw, and when you pull the slide back, at the rear, a screw for sear engagement.
Ideally, a target model............with the field bbl swapped in.
That'd be the Buckmark I want.

Had a regular one like the OP............thing shot great, but standard trigger kinda irked me.
Buddy bought it and poured a ton of ammo through it.

Suppose now enough aftermarket goodies to spruce one up.

Only changes I know of are the grips and barrels. Like Tom I would buy them for $225 till I had to borrow more money!

Hookeye: You are probably correct in your assessment of the "weight" of the OP's pistol's barrel - being the standard as opposed to my description "middle weight"?
I was extrapolating "my" assessment of the OP's Buck Mark pistols barrel description from my original longtime admiration for Brownings predecessors to the Buck Mark and those would be the "pencil" or lightweight barrels on their Challengers and Nomads.
I only have one "Nomad" left in my collection and it is to minty and to valuable to shoot anymore (IMO).
I still wish I had all the various Browning Medalist's (heavy barrel target models), Challengers and Nomads I have owned in the past - they were finely finished and well designed pistols - as well as being rather valuable in today's market.Thanks for your clarification.

Nice score! I just picked up a slightly used Buck Mark Stainless URX. Serial number puts it at 2016 and the gun is basically brand new. Paid $285 for it, but I'm happy. I was looking for a second Ruge MKII, but I couldn't pass this one up.

Steve in Pa: Good for you - I think that model of Browning Buck Marks are just about the best looking of all the various Buck marks!

I own one of what I believe are the "ugliest" of all the Buck Mark models - it's called a Buck Mark "Gold", if I recall correctly, and it has a truly ugly gold finish to the metal and equally unattractive wood grips.
BUT... it has a great trigger and it shoots like a Rifle along with its flawless functioning!
Again good for you on the "pick up".

Sharp looking buckmarks!

Crazy how the MKii have become real popular. I sold my ss old 6 7/8 mkii, wish I sort of hadn't. I picked up a nice mki awhile back and a 22/45 lite...finally I ran across an in the old black/yellow box mkii bull barrel, I believe it was an '86 model. It came home with me.

I'll tell you another we have really enjoyed is the s&w mp compact 22. awesome little gun.

Seen this kind of dumb schit in my own family. I'm sure you were gritting your teeth when you gave it to her. I hit pawn shops minimun once a week and am pretty up to date on used firearm prices. Truth is, a pawn shop isn't going to give her much for it. Maybe $100-150. That's not going to cover much of her legal fees. Almost like giving it away, which really sucks for your boys.Sorry.
