My Dad just grabbed some pretty nice iron. First, a couple of S and W Model 41s (or is it 42), one a 30 year old cherry and the next, a new one he ordered three years ago. We're excited to shoot those soon.

Also on the order stack was the Steyr rimfires, first in was a 22 Mag with nice wood about a month ago. I asked, you have 22 Magnums up the wazoo, so why didn't you get a 17 HMR? So, last night, there's a 17 next to the 22. Wood not as pretty as the 22M, but overall, these are both elegant, practical "adult" sporters, basically between the CZ452 and the 52 Sporter in my eyes.

No bases yet for a scope, so it will be a while before either goes bang, but the factory target showed both MIGHT shoot under MOA outside the test tunnel. Triggers are OK, barrels floated, nice thread collar for a can someday....

Anyone else bought one of these sporters and shot it yet? Any voodoo tricks?
I'll assume the Steyr is the Zephyr II?

Had to google steyr rimfire as I hadn't heard of it.

WANT...
I have a Zephyr II in 17 HMR. At first I was dissapointed in the rather plain, light colored and straight grained stock.

However, the overall fit and finish, the smoothness of the action and unique styling has grown on me.

Accuracy with 17gr Hornady ammo is very good. Last outing I got 1/2" to 3/4" five shot groups at 50 yards. Very heavy fog that morning and couldn't even see the 100 yard line.

Wouldn't mind another in 22LR.
