I have 1 in excellent condition and am selling off my gun collection. The only transaction I can find is $2,750 on Guns International. Anyone have any idea what I should ask. In over 55 years of collecting this is the only one I have ever seen and I would like for it to go to a good home.

would love to have it but not any were near that price. I would give it a good home!

There are several variations of that rifle.

Rifle vs Full stock carbibe, single vs double trigger.

The features effect the value as does its actual condition as verified by good photos.

There are only 2 stock variations of the Zephyr I.

1) Mannlicher stock, checkered, may have single or set triggers.

2) Zephyr made what was know as a " standard" model. It had single trigger only. Carbine or short stock, of lesser grade wood. No butt plate , checkered butt. Same action, but barrel and sights are different.

The standard was not checkered and was less desireable.

I have several mannlicher stocked Zephyrs and 1 "Standard". The standard has been customized.

Too bad the Zephyrs don't shoot as good as they look.

In the following pic....the bottom is a" standard" Zephyr . The second from top is a mannlicher stocked .

I may have interest in your Zephyr, send some pics to: [email protected] If you want,

Yes, condition and which exact model. They are sought after and desirable. Pictures are a must. rimfirecentral.com in the Steyr forum will get you your answers. The market is down a bit right now however.

It has the Mannlicher stock , a single trigger, bottom magazine release, factory rings and the serial # is 38xx. I have owned it about 25 years and have never fired it.

Where are you located?.

Tom,

I am in Northern, Ill. south of the little town on the lake about 40 miles.

Is the receiver grooved?

Be back tomorrow around 6 AM. Good night.

Best,

Chuck

I have a mannlicher stocked Steyr Zephyr with DSTs. I received it as a birthday gift in 1969 after a good deal of begging and promising to do more than my fair share of chores around the house. My Father was feeling uncharacteristically generous in 1968.

Yes the receiver is grooved. I am basically computer illiterate or I'd post pictures..

He did sell that rifle - I’m pretty certain. I had bought another from him at the time (an ADL Marlin 39) and thought very seriously about the Zephyr but literally didn’t pull the trigger.....someone else did.
