The original 40 grain. Taking into consideration 3.8 cents each including shipping.

Good ?

Bad ?

Ugly ?

Not hearing positive results with the new 38, please disregard these.

Love me some Blazers and that price is ok.

Those Blazers are very accurate in my T1X. I sure wish they made a Blazer HP. Happily, the Velocitors shoot as well. Unhappily, the Velocitors are not so cheap.

Blazers in the past have shot well for me.
Posted By: sandcritter Re: CCI Blazers - 08/13/19
“Good”. I think of them as a slightly hotter cci standard, with more variation. CCI makes blazer, btw. Runs in semi-autos just fine for me, though find cci standard and “AR” are more accurate in the two semi’s i put volume thru now. In bolts (mostly cz’s), also shoots ok, just nothing great. Not a bad choice to have on hand, at any rate, especially for the price.

Back when i was far more detail oriented, Blazers were some of the very most consistent ammo available. It remains good stuff. It seems that FTF have come to be common with much rimfire ammo, particularly Remingtons. Have yet to experience this with Blazers.

+1 on Blazers being consistent. I once ran a bunch of different 22LR rounds over the chronograph just out of curiosity and Blazers were the most consistent average velocity. They are my favorite general use stuff because they seem to shoot well in almost anything. Some of my .22's will shoot other stuff more accurately but they all shoot Blazers good.

I should have stated certain criteria, but have gotten informative answers, Thanks!

If they feed, function, & are free of misfires like mini-mags I'd be extremely happy.

For hunting & above average accuracy I have other options. Just looking for dependable plinking ammo that doesn't stop the fun every other mag full. Some of the junk out there isn't worth the frustration to me, even if it was free.

I just bought a case of 5k Blazers. Intend to buy another case soon. In my experience they may be the best bulk ammo out there.

Gunzo,

No problems with the above...

I bought 3 cases this year for rifle and pistol shooting at steel, working on my (and my kid's) speed and accuracy.

Like you, for hunting or serious target work I have better options.

I was always partial to the CCI Mini Mags. Seemed to be very accurate in anything chambered for 22 LR. Many moons ago stumbled on a good deal on a brick of Blazers and was pleasantly surprised. Same accuracy, and same point of impact. I seriously doubt you would regret buying a brick or three of em. Forgot to mention they put squirrels to sleep rather nicely.

They are head and shoulders above other ammo at a comparable price point. Shouldn't even be on the same shelf with Thunderturds and the like.

I had tried a couple boxes & all was good. With that & these positive notes across the board, I've got 5K on the way.

Thanks again guys.

The 38 gr shoots decent in my sons cz 452 scout, and my 455 American for bulk ammo. Not nearly as good as eley subsonic HP, force, or cci subs, but good enough for fun and target practice. Just bought 5250 for 169.99 shipped. Not that I need it but with current climate why not. Good enough price for me.

Like any other ammo, sometimes its good, sometimes not. I have a couple of small .22 handguns that function perfectly with Blazers. If they are significantly cheaper than Mini Mags I would buy a case or two. In rifles I had good luck with them as well.
Posted By: gunzo Re: CCI Blazers - 08/16/19
The best price I've found on MM is 5.6 cents shipped. Blazers 3.8. Quite a bit cheaper IMO, if considering quantities.

I have about a case of Wolf match target that is saved for serious barnyard shoots & such. It's not Ely 10x but it's still about $65 a brick, not plinking with that. Actually put some of it on Armslist, but nobody local seems interested.

Like others have stated, in my opinion (which is worth less than on Blazer cartridge!) its the best of the 'cheap' .22 lr ammo. Much better than Thunderbolts, and somewhat better than the bulk Winchester (222,333,555 packs. I've shot many thousands of rounds of Blazers with great results.

LIke Blazer, my CZ455 does OK with it (good enough to hunt to 50 yards).
Had an old fingergroove 10/22 that loved em.
Current 10/22 does not (does not like anything else either).

Blazer goes on sale and I pick up a brick.

Kids can burn through it pretty quickly LOL

I like Blazers quite a bit, one of my rifles really likes them, but I usually get a flyer about 1 out of 5 shots, even in that particular rifle. They ARE reliable and pretty consistent. A 10/22 will also shoot them pretty well. My bolt guns favor something else (Aguila SE-HV), but Blazers are good for most uses I have. I like them better than CCI-SV, which none of my rifles like at all.

I wish I could get more Geco Semi-Auto, which was available, for a time at least, than 3 cents apiece, but that load, at that price, is no longer available. That stuff will really shoot. It's made by RWS/Ruag.

Blazers are the most accurate 22lr ammo I’ve shot in my Tikka, and I’ve shot a long list of ammo. I will admit that I have not shot any expensive target ammo. Mostly, I like HP ammo, so I usually Varmint shoot with Remington Golden HP, which shoot very well in my rifle. And a recent ammo test showed that CCI Velocitors shot about as well as the Rem Golden’s. So I suppose that among the inexpensive ammo choices, Blazer is very good, and the Rem Golden’s are the best cheap HP ammo I have found yet.
