Curious if folks have compared them....will the SA-22 hang with the BL-22?

Would the SA be more fun for a plinker? Anyone using for hunting?
Can't really comment on accuracy as I haven't tested mine for that yet, but the BL-22 is stupid amounts of fun just plinking. Love the little short throw lever.
I had a a BL22 many years ago. Great gun but I don’t recall the accuracy. I’ve owned a SA22 in 22 short for many years. It’s a blast and very accurate.
Many will disagree of course, but the coolness of the SA alone would make it my preferred choice of the two. How can you not love such a perfect little rifle?

My late brother bought a Grade II BL22right after they came out. It was a real beauty, with really fine workmanship, and a joy to tote. Accuracy wasn't quite up to what he wanted, so when the first Oregon Kimbers came out, he bought S/N 501, for about $400 IIRC.

The Chinese knock-off of the SA was carried all through a TV series we just finished, season one of Candle in the Tomb, a Chinese web show about tomb raiders and archeologists. It was the only gun in evidence until they picked up a 1911 later on.

Ummm, probably because...
A. My brother has one.
B. All 3 of my Marlin semi auto's {M995, M989M2 and M60} outshoot it easily.
C. Levers are more versatile, being able to feed and function correctly with shorts, longs, Long rifles, CB's and shotshells.
D. It's just another semi auto .22 to me.
Interesting info, so how are the triggers on the SA? Re: the above SHORT model, what level of accuracy are you seeing at what range? Ammo? Curious....is that with a scope or irons? Thanks all.

When you come up with a GOOD reason, get back to me.😜
I have a BL 22 and I never found any ammo it would shoot well enough to squirrel hunt with.
Get a Win 9422 and/or 9422M . They are built for real men. Ladies and kids like them too.
I have a BL 22, and it has been one of my primary squirrel rifles for the last 20 years. I cannot count the number of bushytails it has put on the ground. Most ammo (but certainly not all) has been headshot-accurate out to 50 yards. Experimenting with the right ammo is key.

And very Quiet with CCI CB's and CCI Target Shorts that function 100% in it.

Jerry

I've got both. Couldn't choose between them. They're both staying.
