The garage where I park the tractor and the 4 wheeler has no electric so I'm thinking about a solar charger to keep the batteries charged. The wires will have to be run long, probably 30-40 feet or so to reach them and to have the panel in fairly good sun. Anybody using one that you would suggest?

Thanks.
Put the panel as close to the battery as possible. At 30 - 40 feet you will have a lot of line loss. Losses in solar PV lines, DC losses in solar panel strings, and AC losses at the output of inverters all need to be kept to a minimum. Minimizing the voltage drop in cables is one approach to keep these losses under control. It is OK to have a drop voltage of less than 1%, and it should never go over 3%. https://aurorasolar.com/blog/unders...ing-connections-and-system-availability/
