Tonight, while I was backing into the garage, my ATV on its trailer. My neighbor came out to admire. He lives right across the courtyard from me. I've talked to him quite a bit about work, kids, and just about everything but hunting. Tonight hunting came up, and it turns out he's an avid hunter. Like's to hunt Utah. We talked quite awhile, and might just make plans to go pig hunting together at Tejon Ranch. I've known this guy for about 2 years now. Never occurred to me that he might be a hunter. Like me he's a little ticked about the way things are turning out in California.
Phil
P/S: I've recently herd rumor, that approx. 800,000 acres of BLM, and State Forestry land is being closed to all vehicles.

Greyghost,
Isn't it great to find out that there are hunters & outdoorsmen all over? I have also met up with some really great guys when filling up at the gas station, stopping at the store etc. with the 4-wheeler & equipment loaded up. Lots of kindred spirits out there. Just a word or two of caution here. Do you know anything about the habits of this guy re:gun safety? In your discussion of hunting, has there been any hint of anything done illegally? My advice, is to go with this guy to a supervised range, and observe everything this guy does. How he handles the firearm, how he loads/unloads it, ammo handling, muzzle direction, EVERYTHING. This will give you at least some idea of how this new 'partner' might work out. After all, safety is paramount, all else falls down the list somewhere. Redneck

Redneck: I tried to reply to this late last night. I was so tired that after typing the reply, while hovering the mouse over the "To Forum Index" button. A twitch deleted the whole thing. So I just hung it up!
You brought up a wise concern, while I think I know this guy to be a stable family man. I know absolutly nothing about his gun habits. Nor whether he was ever in the Military. I think I will take your advise an invite him to the range first.
Thanks,
Phil
