Going to look at an 09 Rhino 700 this afternoon, other than the obvious things to look for, are there some things in particular to look for on these rigs? I've got a buddy that owns one that is going with me to look at it.

It is the camo version 700 efi with 973 miles on it, Mudlite XTR tires, winch, snowplow and the hard plastic roof. Good looking machine that is supposedly well manitained.

Pretty low miles for an 09. How many hours and what is he asking for it? If the winch is a Warne that's 400 extra. They are a good machine especially if the price is right. If you hunt in country that is rocky, make sure you have 6 ply at least tires. I have Maxxis bighorns on mine and they are good for everything. Good luck.

Don't know the hours yet as he didn't put it in his ad, the winch is a Warn but the size isn't listed either. My buddy has one but it's an 06 or 07 with the 660 motor and he loves that thing. I borrowed a friends Rhino 450 last year for a moose hunt and it did surpringly well for it's size.

I'll be using this in varied terrain, from hard packed trails to muskeg swamps. It already has 26" Mudlite XTR's which are a 6 ply radial tire, ive got the 26" Mudlite XL's on my Foreman and their excellent tires. He's asking $8250 with some wiggle room.

Try 7500 and see where it goes.

Well I bought the machine and have to say, it was in better shape than I thought it might be, hell the shocks look almost brand new. We found only 2 minor things that need to be fixed that will cost less than $50 to fix. It came with a huge Warn snowplow and the Mudlite XTR's are damn near new.

It needs a windshield and a rear panel to finish it off (for now anyways). Looking forward to some weekend trips with this rig and now we'll be able to bring the pups with us.

There were several Rhinos on CL that were cheaper but they all had numerous miles and the older 660 engine. We payed $8k and feel pretty good about the deal. Can't wait to get it out and see some Alaskan backcountry this year.

The 700 is a good engine but its a gas hog, that's why I went with the 660.

Not too worried about gas mileage seeings how the gas mileage on my 97 F250HD 4x4 is consderably worse. lol

Bought a used Rhino 700 in Jan '13..around $7800

very clean one owner w/900 miles//black SE model.....

Dumped round $2800 in new aftermarket accessories...

Machine now has 1700 miles on it....runs great..will climb

a tree.....fuel mileage sucks at 15..older 660 would get 20...

Runs great.....wouldn't be without a Rhino living in Utah

My '98 Tacoma V6 will go almost the same terrain...but not quite

I'm discovering that these Rhino's need a little bit of help to get them to perform to optimum level, which is no surprise as most any offroad type vehicle need mods to perform better.

I'm looking at the split front windshield for the front and a roll up vinyl window for the back. Then a modded secondary sheave, possibly a new MSD cdi, heater, and..........

Sounds like UTV's work like boats - a hole to throw money into....

I'm looking to get one myself!

Yes, all these toys are money pits but without them, life would be boring. Keeping the wheeler as a backup or when a friend or fammily needs to borrow one.

I've been thinking about a side by side as well. Right now have a Polaris Sportsmans 500 and really like it. We beat the crap out of it hauling targets and dragging fields. It's a good machine so far.

Been thinking of a 900 side by side......maybe the 700 is plenty

Heat and AC work flawlessly, it'll go anywhere I want it to go and some places I don't. Fully unclosed cab and I have a detachable tow bar so I can tow it to and from wherever camp is. I had one of my guides drive it from my place between Denver and Cheyenne to Hermosillo Sonora Mexico where we hunted out of it all week and drove it back home. I have about $4k into it with new tires and the ARB bumper and it is a blast to drive. I find myself driving it everywhere now.

Those UTV's are amazing but I just didn't want to spend over $10 grand on one. They are damn nice and will get you where you want to be quicker than my little Toyota but the Toyota just works for my intended purpose a little better. My Yamaha Kodiak 450 fits in the bed too

I have a Taco truck too.......'98 V6 w/207K miles....5 speed

runs like a top....run synthetic oil...change once a year @ 10K

miles...never use a drop....the Taco just won't fit where the

Rhino goes though......



also have an '05 Taco with 4.0 V6 automatic.....

Take the yamaha Bob, no comparison with durability.....

Well I used the Rhino to plow my driveway last Saturday and it did a fantastic job and was much nicer compared to using my Foreman. We're planning on taking a jaunt out to Eklutna on Sunday so I can show the wife how to drive it.

Pretty happy with it so far but it needs a windshield in a bad way. I plan on doing a clutch sheave mod and MSD cdi which will give me more low and high end. Need to buy some a-arm guards for it and a roll up rear window and I think we will be set for a while. I'm also excited to use it for my moose hunt this fall.

Kind of funny, in our younger days we'd thought a windshield was for sissies!
